Another Machine in My Fleet

Men love cars and guns. Ladies, well, we feel the same way about sewing machines. That’s why I was over-the-top giddy when Laura at Guarantee Vacuum and Sewing (Kokomo, IN) told me my new cover stitch machine had arrived! Eeeee!!!
We all piled into our old Tahoe and merrily travelled to the store. Well, I was merry; the kids were happily munching on candy, and my husband felt like a he-man controlling a huge beast.
What awaited at the end of our merry journey was a Janome CoverPro 1000CPX, one model up from the basic model (CoverPro 900CPX). It has a free arm, chain stitch, and 2- or 3-needle capabilities, great for hemming and decorative stitching.
The main attraction for me is that it gives a quick, consistent, professional-looking hem to knits, which constitutes a large portion of my alterations business.
A quick Pinterest search brought up this helpful article on buying and using a cover stitch machine.
If you have a cover stitch machine, I'd love to read your comments!
